The IEEE community in Iran is delighted that Professor Reza Faraji-Dana, ex-Chair of IEEE Iran Section and the current chair of the Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee has been appointed to the position of the minister of science and technology and entrusted with the task of leading one of the most important and prestigious institutions in Iran. Professor Faraji-Dana is one of the longest serving IEEE Iran Section volunteers and the section has thus far benefited tremendously from his contributions and valuable experiences. We wish him success in securing Iran’s foothold in the wider international academic community, and promoting the development of science and technology in our country.
